The owner of Battersea Power Station has made an official bid for Crossrail 2 to serve the location.
The Battersea Power Station Development Corporation wants a station to be built between Battersea Park and the 39-acre former industrial site, which they are turning into homes, shops, offices and restaurants. Sited near the south-east corner of the park, it would link Victoria with Clapham Junction on Crossrail 2.
The Northern line extension is already set to add two Tube stations — Nine Elms and Battersea. But the corporation says a further station would improve links to areas such as Kingston, Epsom and Richmond.
Its case was submitted as part of Transport for London’s latest consultation, which closed on July 25.
