Crackdown on Unlawful Building in Wandsworth

A landlord from Balham is set to be prosecuted in the magistrates court over allegations he built unlawful and unsightly extensions to his property which would have allowed him to rent out cramped and sub-standard living space.

The landlord failed to obtain planning permission before adding a rear roof extension, a roof terrace and an external steel staircase to the two storey terraced property in Dornton Road.

Prior to the works, the property was divided into two flats but the unlawful additions meant he was able to add a third.
