Figures published by The Council of Mortgage Lenders in January 2010, show that there has been an increase in gross mortgage lending. Compared to the previous month there was an increase of 14% as well as an overall 3% increase when compared to 2008.

This growth reinforces the latest stats published by Nationwide. In January 2010, Nationwide issued figures showing that UK house prices have increased by 1.3%.
The figures announced by both Nationwide and The Council of Mortgage Lenders are positive signs of an improving economy. X-Press Legal Services Limited is also seeing increase in both the number of clients held by their franchises and the levels of business from existing clients.
