X-Press Legal Services
Simon and Sally Taylor 6 Months On
Simon and Sally Taylor, bought an existing X-Press Legal Services franchise earlier this year. We asked them if running a business and bringing up two small children was as difficult as it might first appear?
Q: Do either of you have a legal background?
A: No it isn’t a requirement as full training is given.
Q: What attracted you to an X-Press Legal Services Franchise?
A: We were looking for a small business that we could run from home, and that could grow as our family grew, and our enquiries brought up the opportunity to purchase the franchise area around High Wycombe.
Q: What training and ongoing support is provided?
A: The normal two week training session was tailored to meet our needs. And, we’ve been thrilled so far with the amount of support that we’ve had from Head Office as we jumped in to an existing business, and needed to get a grip on things quickly.
Q: Is there sufficient flexibility to run a business and a family simultaneously?
A: Yes, the flexibility that X-Press offers is the perfect set-up for anyone in a similar situation to us, as it really does allow you to wear both hats – particularly because we run the business from home.
Q: Can you describe a typical day?
A: Our daily routine varies, but invariably starts with switching on the computer as soon as we get up, then on to the kitchen to make coffee. Armed with caffeine, we rush around getting our daughter to school, and then go through the day’s priorities. Fortunately, we are able to keep the office open into the evening or weekends if required.
Q: What does the future hold?
A: As our children grow up, so we intend to grow the business. We are concentrating on slowly growing our client base, to ensure that we continue to deliver a high standard. Long term, we would like to build the value of the business, so that it is saleable upon our retirement!!
Q:What advice do you have for anyone considering an X-Press Legal Services Franchise?
A: Our advice to anyone thinking of investing in any franchise opportunity, would be to conduct as much market research as possible, both by way of finding out about your potential clients, and by speaking to existing franchisees. It has been a very positive experience for us, and we would recommend it to others, although we are aware that we were lucky to have an existing client base to cut our teeth on before having to start the marketing in earnest!!
