Bank of England Hold Base Rate
The Bank of England has held interest rates at 0.5% for the eleventh successive month. The base rate has remained the same since it was it was reduced in March 2009.
Director of Mortgages at Legal & General, Ben Thompson commented: "It's no change again, but perhaps not quite as clear-cut as in previous months. With consumer confidence on the up, house prices recovering and signs of life in the mortgage market, we don't want a relapse and a continued reliance on quantitative easing life support."
