New Housing Minister
Caroline Flint becomes new housing minister.
Caroline Flint is to take over from Yvette Cooper as Housing Minister. Yvette Cooper has left her post, which she has held since 2005, to become Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
Ms Flint had previously been Minister of State for Employment and Welfare Reform. Yvette Cooper will be remembered by many for her role in the introduction of the government’s Home information Pack initiative.
